So I have 2 rooftop ac units of the Penguin type.

They leak when it rains really hard.
A light rain is ok
Maybe a hard rain allows the water to puddle somewhere?
has anyone experienced this?

Leaking rain water into the coach.

I would suspect the square foam seal around the roof opening. it should be compressed by the bolts that hold the AC to the roof. You'll have to pull the inside part to see it.

While I have installed other brands, the seal is the same. I remember the instructions say to tighten until the foam is compressed a certain amount...

Keith,

The pan under Dometic roof top unit has a drain port that allows the
condensation to drain overboard through a port in the side. I can't remember
if there is one or two of them.

I assume the Penguin has a similar system and it could be that when it rains
heavily the drain ports can't handle the flow and the water exits the pan in
a location that allows it to flow into the GMC instead of out onto the roof?

Pull the covers off to see what is going on. You could use a hose to fill
the pan and see where the water goes.

Yes, rain water Very Happy

OK seal and drain pan.
Maybe both.

The coach sits at a slight angle so the water runs forward so it's hard to tell the exact leak location.

But I'll check both things
