G'day,
I have a spare tire cover for The Blue Streak from Frank Jenkins that has
the red GMC in the center. Ken H. noted that if it was hooked up to the
brakes it would be a great third brake light and I agreed.
I then got the crazy idea of hooking it up so that when I signaled a right
turn the G would light, then the M, then the C, and finally the right turn
signal bulb. Left turn would do the opposite C - M - G - LTSL.
Jim H. noted that all I'd need is the sequential flasher unit from a Mercury
Cougar or Thunderbird from about 1969 or 70.
Being an optimist I went to AutoZone to see if they had one and naturally
they didn't. They did provide the location. Trunk area, driver side, rear of
wheel well, under trim panels, mounted on lower fender well
The odds of me finding a T-Bird or Cougar from that era here in Australia in
a junk yard is as probably worse than me winning the lottery, I'd appreciate
it if anyone spots one in a Men's Mall over there to check and see if the
turn signal flasher is there and if yes buy it and I'll pay for it.
Thanks,
Rob M.
