,One of our more mechanically proficient Dixielanders showed up here
with his beautifully restored, within the past year, coach for sale.
He and his wife sold their original GMC a couple of years ago and
bought an SOB. After a while, she said she just "didn't feel special"
riding in anything but a GMC. So, he bought another GMC and restored
it, with new paint and entire interior -- BEAUTIFULLY.

Now that coach is for sale because she didn't really like the floor
plan. He's now bought, gutted, and has ready for repainting, a rear
bedroom Royale -- '78, I think he said. Problem is, the 455 engine in
it has Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake manifold. Therefore the
engine hatch is raised and she doesn't like that. So he's looking for
an OEM 455 intake manifold. He'd probably swap even for a good one.
Is anyone interested? Let me know if so -- he's not on the internet.
Oh yeah, does anyone know for sure that an OEM manifold works OK with
the aluminum heads?

Or if anyone wants a really fresh 26' with new paint & interior, I'll
get more specifics about the one they're replacing. All I know at the
moment is what I can see and his mention that it has analog fuel
injection which is working well. Oh yeah, and the fact that Bill
Bramlett rebuilt the transmission in it just a couple of months ago at
my place.

Thanks, Dennis. He'll be glad to have that information. Now if we
can just find him a manifold. Maybe someone has a cracked one they
chose to replace with a Rockwell?

Ken,
I have a cracked intake manifold that I took off my 455 and replaced it with
a filled one from Mondello. He can have the old one if he pays for the
shipping. How do you ship it?

Norm,

No, it's not advertised. I'll talk to him tomorrow & refresh my
memory about details. I got away without a camera except for my cell
phone -- I'll see what it will do.

If you'll send me a 'phone number I'll give it to him.

Norm,

I'm sorry/glad to report that the coach I mentioned is no longer
available. Another of our Dixielanders bought it about 4 hours ago.

But, there is another SUPER coach available that I should have
mentioned earlier. Another of the members here has a Clasco coach
with <30,000 miles since its rebuilding. I have not seen the coach
but have seen the photos and know the owner VERY well. He says it's
spotless inside and out. He bought it from a widow almost a year ago;
she and her husband had kept it for several years without ever using
it due to his illness. The seller prefers to keep his current coach;
send me a 'phone number & I'll pass it to him.

And for anyone interested in a 23', the couple who bought the coach
this afternoon now has one available. He's just finished doing 'most
everything to the coach, about a 3 year labor of love. When they
arrived here a couple of days ago, several of us crowded into it to
greet them. She suddenly realized that the floor plan doesn't have
room for many visitors (a couple less than our 23'), so when she
learned of the 26' for sale, she wanted it. Anyone want me to have
him contact you?

Is this an iron or aluminum manifold. If it is iron how did you clean it to look so good? I want to know as I have one, or two, that need to be cleaned. The paint striping/de-rusting people I use say their process should not be used on cast iron so I am looking for another way to get the intake cleaned.
