"403 engine, 200 HP @ 3600, uses regular 87 octane gas with improved gas mileage. Bigger pistons with shorter stroke than previous 455. Total miles 110,484 unknown if original engine, appears to have replacement headers, HEI ignition. Runs strong and smooth."

This is the '78 Kingsley in Camp Verde AZ I'm interested in.

In 1994 it was reported to have 105,000 miles.

"Presently it is owned by John Wolever of Camp Verde, AZ. He did not give its mileage when he joined the club [GMCMI]. The ad shows 110,484 miles. But, it is hard to believe that it has only been driven 5484 miles in 17 years. The distance from Seattle to Camp Verde is about 1452 miles so that means that it was only driven 4032 miles in 17 years. It either has been turned back or has a different speedometer in it, or perhaps more likely it has 210,484 miles on the chassis. I am pretty sure that the speedometer only goes to 100,000 miles and then starts over. So, it probably turned over twice and is now showing 10,484. It would be good to find out if the engine has been changed out or not."

OK, I does one find our? Rich Bagwell, Black List in Prescott has volunteered to look it over for me.

Bob;
A friend of mine drives his GMC 75 miles every spring to his campsite
and every fall he drives it back home and parks it in his barn
His 77 403 has 43k on it and only 1500 miles in the last 10 years ~
