Hello all
This message is for Ken Henderson and any who have used his transmission lifting device. Can one drop a tranny and install in coach with this device or is it just for moving around shop and transportation. If you can remove/install it could i leave final drive on. I have already R+R tranny final drive once when i went with manny tranny and Jim K 370 gears. I did it that time with jack blocks brute force+ignorance and a sprinkling of colourful words But that was under better conditions with plenty of time on my hands This time will be away from home on a vacant lot with only
the tools and gear i brought 100 miles
Thanks so much GMCers

Terry,

My lifting device has worked well for me both in the shop and for R&R,
both with and without the FD attached. It doesn't precisely align the
assembly under any conditions, but it does position it close enough to
be pretty easily manipulated into position.

As with ANY lifting device, don't get beneath that heavy package
without double restraint -- I run a chain around each frame side rail
and beneath the transmission before getting any part of a body under
there.
