Well we are back from our trip to the Maritimes, 10 days and 2700 miles and not an issue with the Murray.

The average MPG (converted to US Gal to prevent whining) 9.9

The best was 11.6, flat hyway in Ontario.

The worst was 7.7, Hilly twisting in New England

No oil was needed to be added. I started at the full mark and its about the midway operating range now.

First time among some major hills, so I can see I'll need to change the final drive before we goto the west coast.

Best idea.. bringing Keurig coffee maker

I do need to figure out why I had to retard my spark advance in the EBL.

Bruce, what do you think about that reaction arm braking after a trip like that? I know how much you liked the new frontend.

Dan,
We are considering a trip to the west coast in the next few years. At that point I'll likely spring for the reaction arm and 3.70 FD.

I haven't installed the rear disks yet, but plan to have those on for the GMCMI in Sept.

The one-ton front end was great on some of the back roads in the Maritimes and especially Hyway 2 through New England. I don't think I would have kept it on the road with my old front end.

Your nice trip report brought back memories of a similar trip a few years back ~
We really enjoyed the ferry rides and scenery in the Maritime Provincec ~
Also while traveling west on hwy 2 it was very pleasant for us until we got to N.Adams ~
From there it was a little scary until I replaced the master cylinder in the Albany / Cohooes area ~

Oh, rear discs you got. I messed up. My memory is not too good, is it? Anyway, get those rears on and be ready for the arm.
Thanks for the trip report Bruce.
Life is good with a one ton GM frontend on a 74 coach.
