No Robin it is not like a Thermasan. The Thermasan only pumped liquid to the exhaust ,had a strainer for the Solids.
The Zld ,grinds up the the solids to very small Pieces and pumps them with the liquid to the exhaust.
He claims there are no odors in the exhaust.

To Robin,
Yes, it is just a rehash of my second generation commercial unit. (Production was very limited.)

| To Paul,
When the RV unit pulled liquid from the black tank, that was most of what there was. There were available packages of bacteria cultures with a mix that ate both the paper and the other biological solids so that all that remained was liquid. Even without the mutant strains help, in a very few miles of road agitation, the only solids left were on the bottom of the tank and could only be removed with a fixed pick-up point that was not incorporated in the tank design, or a full conventional dump and rinse.
As to the “there is no odor” remark, I would bet that their evaluation is with a diesel at 40~60% load - no more and surely no less. At that load they can only introduce 0.05gal/hp/hr (an 8V-71 Greyhound could just barely hold the tank level) before you gas the people following you. Maybe if you introduce the effluent prior to the particulate traps of a modern diesel you could get away with more, but not much more as most of the odor us from urine. A diesel could oxidize that unless the load is to high (too little O2 left over), but SI engines can’t run that lean but the also don’t have the diesel to cover the other odors up.
Let me tell you about hours and hours of odor and emissions testing that got done. Some on dyno and some on the road, and the conclusion was always the same. If we inject at a rate that does any good, it is going to stink. That was the stopper for one of the highway bus companies.

Harry,
I can't tell you about this "new" unit, but with the vintage Thermasan, there was so little of anything but water that the additional material would be lost in the road grime.
