G'day,

I was looking over Gary Bovee's Idiot's Guide to the GMC and a light bulb
came on over my head.

What do think about creating "The Perfectionist's Guide to the GMC;" it
would list the upgrades available system by system starting with the
simplest to the ultimate. The list below is not complete nor is it in the
"perfect" order, it's just as they popped into my head.

For example: Brakes:
1) Replace DOT 3 fluid with Dot 4 ATE (Yellow or Blue)
2) Replace front brake pads with carbon metallic pads
3) Replace rear brake shoes with carbon metallic brake shoes
4) Replace front brake calipers with 80mm calipers
5) Replace rubber brake hoses with Teflon lined braided stainless steel
hoses
6) Replace steel brake lines with stainless steel
7) Replace steel OEM Combination Valve with brass
8) Replace OEM booster with sensitized booster
9) Replace middle axle drums with disks
10) Replace both rear axle drums with disks
11) Install reaction arm brake system

Naturally we will have divergent opinions as to what would be the ultimate
upgrade and where a particular upgrade would be on the list but at the end
of the day at least all the upgrades to a system could be found on one list.

I realize that Gene has most of them on his website and we could include
links to it. We could include links to other websites or detailed
information about the particular upgrade.

I will continue on the brake system as an example. Feel free to point me in
the "right" direction.

Regards,
