We made the trip from the Chicago area to White Rock BC earlier this month.
Included going through Yellowstone.
Approx 2500 miles. The cost of gas in Canadian Dollars was $972.51.
Therefore it cost us 39 cents a mile plus 1 1/2 liter of oil.
The stays at campsites cost $289.03 (8 nights - average $36.13 per night or
$00.12 cents a mile)
Food - groceries cost us approx $250.00 ( we try restaurants along the way)
equal to 10 cents a mile
Battery Cable replacement - $10.00 cost of cable.
Entry to Park, Car museum, Buffalo Bill Cody Museum, 1880 Old Town, Badlands
- 100.00
Approx: total cost - 1641.54/2500 = 65.66 cents per mile.
This does not include our cost to fly to Chicago - but gives an idea of
traveling cost per mile.
Before starting this trip we had flown to London - took a bus to
Southamptom, stayed in a hotel for two nights
then boarded a cruise ship for 14 days to the North Baltic, one more night
at Heathrow Hotel
estimated cost $14,000.00 / 11508 miles = $1.22 per mile (just about double
the cost and half the enjoyment.
Another thing - the cruise has come and gone - but the coach remains.
one other fact is we bought this coach for $14,000.00 ( same cost as our
cruise trip.
Even Sharon agrees the Coach was a better deal!!!!!
So get out there and enjoy the drive- sightseeing and time together.
