For those of you who watch Dan, Terry, myself, and others as we move around the country, I thought you would like to see what is behind what you see facilitating the delivery of the received position packets. This is just a snapshot of the servers involved. It does not include all of the servers.
Servers with less than 5 active clients are not shown.
Only servers running javAPRSSrvr are shown.
Darker colour indicates more clients connected.
Green servers are core servers, orange ones are T2 hubs, red ones have a T2* name (most of them belong to the Tier2 network), purple ones are WXQA servers, the rest of them are blue.
Inter-server links between hubs and core servers are blue, the rest of the links are green.
Not shown are all of the gateways and digi-peaters required to get the received packets to the servers. Also not shown are all of the back up links that were in standby but not moving active traffic at the time.
Click on the picture to enlarge it and read the location names.

Since the only license needed to operate an APRS tracker, is a Technician class amateur radio license, and there is no longer a morse code requirement, just go for it.
Go to the ARRL site, find a club near you, visit or call, and find when they are giving classes. Go to the QRZ site and try the free practice tests.
Join the other 90 GMC owners with licenses.
Any body want to do a Special Event station at International? We could do a great GMC QSL card.
