One of those trips that don't get reported too often, because it was completely ho-hum. No problems at all.
 )
Left Portland Friday morning, drove a leisurely ~2 hrs and 90 miles to Trout Lake WA (1900' elev) for camp out with some friends.
Lovely weather, just a super weekend.

Came back Sunday via a different, longer route, climbed up to Government Camp (4000' elev) on Mt Hood on highway 35, then back down Hiwy 26 to Portland, about 130 mi going this way. Plenty of power climbing from Hood River on the Columbia River, about 3800' elev climb in 45 miles. Haven't calculated my mileage yet. Not in a hurry to do so...
Love love love driving this rig.
All in all a great trip. Reminded I need to do Mueller's steering check, as it wanders a bit. Have new Dunlop Radial RV/XT's that seem to be doing fine. Also reminded I need to do body/isolation pads. Hiwy 35 is a bit rough in spots from road work to recover from flooding last winter. Encouraged by recent threads that doing pads might not be as bad as I thought. Actually bought a set from JimK and will be installing them in next few weeks.
The campground we stayed at had no hookups, and I was dismayed that we ran through the fresh water tank pretty quickly. Gonna have to figure out some conservation strategies before our planned week-long trip in August. Also yearning for an instant hot-water heater, as August will be boondocking too. Don't think I've got time to get that done though.
Did manage to get the hinged bed platform functioning, without lifter assist which I'll need to add in the future. Will post some pictures/description separately.
All in all a happy camper/GMCer.
