I had my coach aligned according to the specifications listed in my owners maintenance manual. It drives like a dream but I noticed today that after our 5000 mile road trip, the front tires are wearing quite a bit on the outside two rows of tread. Is this normal?? Both sides are wearing the same.

If both tires are worn evenly then more than likely the toe adjustment is off. If the static toe adjustment is not off, then you probably have worn lower a-frame bushings allowing the wheels to move forward under load and affecting the toe adjustment as you are moving. Take a good look at the lower A-Frame bushings and replace them with urethane ones if yours are work.

It is also possible, but highly unlikely, that the camber is off by the same amount on both wheels.

Rick,

I checked and according to Maintenance Manual X-7525 Section 3 Suspension
Page 3A-20 the spec is:

Toe: Check = 0 to 1/4" toe out
Set = 1/8"

Both Bob Drewes and Dave Lenzi recommend 0 toe in/out.

IIRC the GMC toes in under power so I'd guess even though it drives well
either the alignment wasn't correct or there is something worn that is
allowing the wheels to tow in.

I don't know if this will work but you could try:

1) Put blocks in front and behind both sets of rear wheels
2) Screw parking brake knob all the way in and pull up on the lever.
3) Start the GMC and put it in drive then reverse to make sure it won't
move.
4) Have your wife sit in the drivers seat and put the GMC in drive then
neutral then reverse and then back to neutral to drive while you observe the
front wheels.
5) If they move in and then out look up under the GMC in such way as not to
risk getting run over and see what you can see.

Waay to much toe in. Setting the ride height correctly is a critical factor
in the pre-alignment process.
