Is there anyone in the general area of Leduc, Alberta who could look at
something for me.
It's not a GMC, but there is the spending of money involved, so I would
appreciate the favour !
Thanks

Fellow Netters...

I have been in touch with Gary Zingle...gotta love the Black List, and he
has very generously agreed to kick some tires and spend money for me, if
negotiations get to that point.

Thanks guys

I once was in Las Vegas, NV with some friends and there was a person at a
conference that had done research on Names, all my friends asked him about
there names and he gave them the family history, when I gave him mine he
looked at the book, got a frown on his face, closed the book and told me, it
was best I never find out. I know that my grandfather was a real scoundrel
and my father did not fall far from that tree, so I just leave things alone,
sometimes it might be best just not to find out. My Dad moved us around so
much that I do not know any of my family except for my Sister/ brother and
Mom and Dad. Two countries, 5 states and to many cities to even remember. 20
different schools, when I was in the Air Force they had to get me a top
security clearance, it took 8 months.

I read that the town was named after a priest, that doesn't say much as my
dad's sister was a Nun and she would make your hair stand up on ends. So I
will leave things the way they are : )

Isn't life interesting, I am 67 and have lived in 2 houses.

Hello Serge

Leduc, AB is just south of Edmonton. I believe it was named for one of the missionaries who worked amongst the native peoples. The area was first explored by traders from the Northwest Company and the Hudson's Bay Co. They merged in the early 1800's. Wherever the traders went, the church was close behind. Leduc is not an uncommon name in areas of Canada with populations of French background.

OOps I wrote somthing but it vanished: I'm trying again.

Michael:

Leduc Alberta is 20 minutes south of where I live. If you still need the help, I would be happy to help you out.

For Interest sake:
"Leduc #1" Kicked off the Oil industry in Alberta. It was called Leduc because the Oil field was called the leduc field. After a hell of a lot of tries it finally came in as a wildcat well drilled by "Dry Hole Hunter" (Vern) He was the father of a Teaching Colleague and friend of mine. While my Father never met Vern he was also active in the oil fields around Alberta, Leduc #1 is actually just outside the town of Devon Alberta. Devon's mascot was Wildcat Willie, named after the Leduc Wildcat discovery. I co-owned a Ford / Mercury Dealership in Devon called Wildcat Mercury to honour that name.

Best of Luck
