The response to the 2011 Summer Give-Away to benefit the GMC photo site has been very generous.

We know that supporting the photo site and Billy Massey are the primary intent of your contribution -- it is rewarding to see how much you value the Photo site archives.

Update -- Don't want to sound like a late night info-mercial but we have been able to add another 22 pc set of Kobalt Thru sockets; now the first three names drawn will each receive one. Also, the next three names drawn will receive a 3M body shop paint suit. The paint suits are washable, with velcro adjustments for waist -- if you don't need them for painting they make excellent emergency coveralls to keep in the GMC. Choice of medium/large or extra large. Go here to see... http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=39653&title=more-gmc-give-away-009&cat=5804

So if you have not yet made a donation/pledge please consider it -- and every dollar earns you one ticket in the drawing.
Remember that the full amount of your contribution goes direct to the photo site -- the tools, paint suits and shipping costs have all been donated.

To participate in the drawing please make your actual contribution payment by going to http://gmcmhphotos.com/photos/donate.html either by Paypal or by check. Deadline for pledges is July 3, with payment due by July 10. The drawing will be July 5.

Pledges and notice of payment should be sent to GMCnet2011@gmail.com .

Thank you again and Good Luck!

If you missed the first post announcing this summer contribution drive, it is repeated below.

Announcing the 2011 Summer Give-Away benefitting the GMC photo site.

How often have you found invaluable information on the GMC photo site? It is the collective product of many dedicated GMC owners. But it would not be possible without Billy Massey, aka bdub. Hosting, maintaining, updating such a site takes money --- but the service is free, supported only by member donations.

This summer, please help raise a little extra $ for bdub by making a modest additional financial contribution and participate in the 2011 Summer Give-Away. For every dollar you pledge to the photo site you will receive one entry in a drawing for Kobalt tool sets. Remember that just a few dollars per member will add up nicely.

Kobalt Thru-ratchet socket sets have received strong endorsement by forum members – and now you could win a 22 piece set just by supporting the GMC photo site. The first two names drawn will each win a set. The drawing will be conducted on July 5, of all entries received by July 3.

To participate – send an email with your name and the amount you would like to donate to me at GMCnet2011@gmail.com (please use GMC in the subject line). Make your actual contribution payment by going to http://gmcmhphotos.com/photos/donate.html either by Paypal or by check by July 10th.

The full amount of your contribution goes to the GMC photo site. The cost of all prizes and ConUS shipping have been donated by Cynthia. Shipping to Australia may be delayed

Even if you don’t feel you have a need for the tools – join in and support the photo site. But please, don’t let this affect your annual contribution.

Go here to see the Kobalt tool set (one of two) to be given away.

Dennis,

Sounds like a great idea. A long time ago there were two explorers that
went to the North Pole trying to find the remains of a supposedly abandoned
1973 GMC Glacier. One was a German fellow from NJ and the other guy was a
Slovak - both were ham radio operators. Along their journey they checked
in daily via ham radio. Several weeks into the expedition they stopped
checking in. A volunteer S&R (Search & Rescue) party was assembled - mostly
hams - went to try and find their comrades.

After several days they found the guy from NJ who cornered by a couple of
huge polar bears. A male and a female. Eventually, they were able to
distract the bears long enough for the NJ ham to escape. When asked about
the other ham radio operator he replied - are you ready...The Checks in the
MAIL!

$15 sent to Bill. Thanks Dennis for coordinating this and special thanks to
Cynthia!,
