Hi All,

After work today I am going to try to breath new life into the Onan. I have
yet to even try it as it has not been fired since the PO had in 2004.

What I'm looking for is a checklist on what should be done to it before I
even try to turn it over?

I also plan on giving it a tune up before I try. Whats the best outlet for
parts. Thinking of oil change, filter, spark plugs, air filter and carb
clean out. I have read about the bad fuel lines so that is also on the
table.

As always any and all suggestions are great.

FYI- unit has 424 hrs on meter.
Thanks,

remove the sparkplugs, shoot a spoonful of oil down the holes, turn it over by hand and be sure it turns freely.

Remove the bowl from the carb.  If it's clean, put it back.  If it's varnished up, get gaskets and rebuild the carb.

drain the oil, replace with new and a new filter.

Replace the air fileter.

Hook the coil wires to the plugs out of the cylinder heads and set them on top of the unit.  Spin it with the starter and listen for strange noise, look for sparks.

Got sparks and no strange noises?  Put a new set of plugs in it, and power the fuel pump and verifyu there's gas going into the carb.

Put the gas line back on and spin it off, it should run.

At each step, if you don't get a good result investigate and correct as necessary.
