John Nicholls helped me change my master cyl., alternator and charge the AC. when done i cranked it up and as it idled for awhile it suddenly quite. no spark. good 12v to the distributor.

we pulled the module which tested OK at the parts store. next we tested the pickup coil with an ohm meter and it looked bad so we changed it for a spare one he had on hand. still no spark. next we tested one on a distributor he had just pulled out of his coach and replaced with a Patterson unit; it tested bad.

long story short the 7525 manual on page 6y-55, 6y56 showed how to test the pickup coil with an ohm meter. we found the hookup picture on page 6y-56 is wrong. step 1 and 2 should be reversed as far as the connections go. when reversing the test the 2 pickup coils showed to be OK. but still no spark.

we also checked the coil on 3 dist. caps and they all showed to be OK by the manual but only one of them would actually give any spark. finally got it running an set the timing and all is well.

i post this because of the recent thread on "no spark" that had someone stuck on the side of the road with the same problem. maybe those distributors on e-bay aren't such a bad idea after all.

Fred,

I'm sorry but being electrically challenged I don't understand your
explanation.

I note the Figure 59 while numbered 1 & 2 relate to steps C-8 and C-9 on
page 6Y-55.

Could you take a moment and re-write the steps correctly.

Rob M.

in step 1 c-8 use step 2 hookup (fig. 59) of the ohm meter. in c-9 step 2 use fig. 59 step 1 hookup of ohm meter.
make sense?
