All,

When I saw Rob Muellerıs email about calling for a tow for the GMC I thought
it would make for a great document to have around. With only a mild amount
of arm-twisting his guide is available for download in PDF. I've taken the
liberty to add a simple illustration just in case you can't read. Rob also
provided some high-resolution scans of the manual which are the last two
pages of his document.

The only thing not in the guide is the number you should call when caught at
the traffic light or on an out-of-the-way path in Brazil (and I don't mean
the town in Indiana).

At http://www.gmceast.com you go to Tech Documents (the tab is on the left).
From there you can peruse the list and select the document ( NEW GMC Towing
Guide) or you can read what else is there (and get a synopsis of each
article) by following this link
http://www.gmceast.com/technical/technical/synopses.html
The synopsis of Rob's document is there under the Steering, Suspension and
Towing section of the web page right under the Wireless Air System document.

If you don't see it you may need to refresh your browser.

Byron,

Thanks for the compliment.

I would like to note that the document is EXTREMELY pedantic / over the top,
whatever, however, as I noted in the last sentence I reckon if you do all
this and the towing company screws up your GMC you will have a good case if
you wind up in court.

IIRC someone had their trans ruined by a tow driver towing his GMC from the
back.

BTW the Steering Procedure is under revision, I learned a lot when I was at
Bean Station and checked several coaches.

Regards,
Rob M.

Rob,

I'm patiently waiting for Son of Steering Procedure (or is it Steering
Procedure II or Steering Procedure Revisited or Steering Procedure: The
Sequel?) Whatever. I'll bet it's good. I just hope you're not suffering from
writer's block.
