Advice needed! Need to replace some pipework in coach (Water), problem i have here (UK) is our pushfit pipe/fittings sizes differ from yours. Nothing to do with metric/imperial, its that our 1/2" refers to the external measurement whereas yours is the bore size. Have tried U/S E.bay without success, can anyone direct me to a supplier over there?

www.mcmaster.com is probably the best source for you (as it frequently
is for all of us). Their prices are fair, their delivery almost
instantaneous, and their selection of parts unparalleled. The web
site is the best I know of for locating and ordering a wide variety of
parts. I know nothing of their export policies or proficiency.

AFAIK McMaster Carr will not ship out of the USA unless you have an existing

I'm confused!
AFIK in the USA water supply (copper and plastic) is measured by the OD;
galvanized steel water supply pipe is measured by the ID and water drain
pipe is measured by the ID.
Exactly what kind pipework are you looking for?
As you can see from my signature I have a GMC Downunder and when I wanted to
install a macerator I could not find water drain pipe here (all metric), I
had to have a friend in the USA send it to me.

Copper pipe is measured by O.D. for A.C.R. (refrigeration) pipe and I.D. for plumbing . In other words a length of 1/2" plumbing tubing would be 5/8" A.C.R.tubing except plumbing tubing is generally "M" and ACR is K,L or labeled ACR."M" is a thinner wall tubing.

OH Boy Denis,
I also have a '73 and have had to do some (fortunately not a great deal) of plumbing work. Mine is a 23' so somethings may be different, but the diagram in the book seems to be correct. But it is all supposed to be copper tubing (with few exceptions - like the potable pump connections).
At the time this was assembled, copper came as both tubing an pipe, but my coach is all tubing. Tubing is all described as OD. All flexible (it was when it was new) copper is tubing. This I am very sure of.
There is, however, a problem hiding in the copper water systems. Many have been less than effectively winterized on one or more occasions, and the freeze expanded the soft copper. Now, it is too large for the sweat or flare fitting, but it isn't pipe size either.
What did I do about it?
Two things..
In one place I worked a gauge (a wrench would do) along the expanded line until I found a place that was close enough to size for fitting to work and then I replaced the line from there on.
Another place I could not do that, so I used a the block (the part with the holes) from one of my flaring block sets to swage the line back to nominal size. (My father would have either bought me a drink or beat me and I'm not sure which.) I'm sure that there might be other ways to do this.
Just be sure than anything shipped to you is a market as used antique vehicle parts.

Matt,
Glad you mentioned this. I couldn't figure out why the nut wouldn't fit over
a copper tube I shortened to install a shutoff valve in my water supply line
until I took the line out and could see how it had swelled up from freezing!

Thanks for info Matt, I can see now why this has caused some confusion. Didn't realise all pipework was originally copper.I have some copper (not much) nearly all is plastic/PVC but even that is differing brands, some is an opaque colour and some is grey so there has been extensive re-plumbing done by P/O.
Like i said in earlier posts its the difference between the standard U/S / UK sizes that is the problem.
U/S 1/2"= bore = 5/8 OD
UK 1/2"= OD = 3/8 bore
I'm sure any U/S plastic pipe /fittings will be compatible
