Most posts here are about problems with the GMC. New or prospective owners may get the impression that they break all the time. I wanted to post about our recent trip with our two oldest grandkids (Mary, 13 and Rachel, 11). 3600 miles without any problems. GMC ran great and we all had a wonderful time. We left MO on Monday, May 30th and returned home, Monday, June 13th. We visited the Grand Tetons then on to Yellowstone. We thought we might be too early for Yellowstone but despite one really cold day, we had an excellent visit there. No crowds and the wildlife was in the process of emerging from the long, hard winter. We saw 5 grizzlies, 2 black bears, 3 wolves, Elk, Moose and the ever present Bison.
We originally planned on going up to Glacier but because of the large snow fall and unpredictable weather, we changed plans and decided to spend time in the Mt. Rushmore area. That worked out great. Camped in Custer State Park and went to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and the Needles highway. The next day we went to Wind Cave and Mammoth Site. On to the Badlands NP where the girls had a great time climbing on the hills. Saw some mountain goats there.
Stopped in and had a nice visit with Bob and Marlys Drewes in SD. Had a great time there. On to Minneapolis to visit our youngest son and family then back to MO.
We have really enjoyed our GMC. Since it became operational for us in September of 2007, we have put over 44,000 trouble free miles on the coach. Given regular maintenance, these coaches will run many miles trouble free.

I can see that you all had a wonderful time together.
When I was growing up in Idaho, my folks would take us every summer on
a trip in the Western part of the country, so I became familiar with
those areas.
We traveled through those areas with our Sons and had great time.
Thanks for sharing your great experience with us.

To add to this - Sharon and I have enjoyed many trips in our 77 Eleganza II
- Vancouver to LA twice, to Alberta, Oregon, Washington, and many parts of
BC. To June 5th we flew into Chicago and picked up our second coach a 77
Kingsley and drove it home crossing the Peace Arch Border between Blaine
Wash. and White Rock this past Monday. We took in Yellowstone as well. The
only thing that really need to be replaced was the cable to the Starter. We
look forward to now RV'ing with our daughters and their children - them in
the Eleganza and us in the Kingsley. We have 4 daughters and their families
(12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren) so we may end up owning 4 GMC
Coaches. They are great machines and have a great network of people ready
to help and have fun.
Like the song says "On the Road Again"

Since October of 2009 we have enjoyed over 10,000 uneventful miles in our Palm Beach. I love it more than my TiVo!
Only once did we have an issue - the fan clutch failed going down to So. Cal. A call to Jim K gave me the right part number and a local parts store even delivered it to us. I had it in in under an hour. (My wife thinks I'm a genius) Shhhhhh.
What could possibly go wrong? It's only a 35 year old car with a house bolted on top of it...
But it's so well done...
