Announcing the 2011 Summer Give-Away benefitting the GMC photo site.
How often have you found invaluable information on the GMC photo site? It is the collective product of many dedicated GMC owners. But it would not be possible without Billy Massey, aka bdub. Hosting, maintaining, updating such a site takes money --- but the service is free, supported only by member donations.
This summer, please help raise a little extra $ for bdub by making a modest additional financial contribution and participate in the 2011 Summer Give-Away. For every dollar you pledge to the photo site you will receive one entry in a drawing for Kobalt tool sets. Remember that just a few dollars per member will add up nicely.
Kobalt Thru-ratchet socket sets have received strong endorsement by forum members – and now you could win a 22 piece set just by supporting the GMC photo site. The first two names drawn will each win a set. The drawing will be conducted on July 5, of all entries received by July 3.
To participate – send an email with your name and the amount you would like to donate to me at GMCnet2011@gmail.com (please use GMC in the subject line). Make your actual contribution payment by going to http://gmcmhphotos.com/photos/donate.html either by Paypal or by check by July 10th.
The full amount of your contribution goes to the GMC photo site. The cost of all prizes and ConUS shipping have been donated by Cynthia. Shipping to Australia may be delayed
Even if you don’t feel you have a need for the tools – join in and support the photo site. But please, don’t let this affect your annual contribution.
Go here to see the Kobalt tool set (one of two) to be given away.

Some information about the GMC photo site -- mostly for new enthusiasts.
The GMC photo site is the first place many of us go when we plan a new project. Everything from engine rebuilds to interior modifications to macerator installations is documented.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/
Billy Massey, the site owner, only mentions the need for financial support annually on the site anniversary.
There are no ads on the site.
A modest supplemental donation -- just a few dolllars -- by those who have viewed my original post would result in $300 boost to the site and help with maintenance, upgrades and such.
And each dollar would earn you a chance to participate in the Summer Give-Away -- a drawing for Kobalt socket sets.
Thank you,
Dennis
some GMC photo site statistics as of November, 2010
As of 11/30/2010 the site contained
28,452 photos in
over 1,893 albums by
over 1,119 registered users.
It requires more than 4 gigabytes of online storage space and
at least a 13mb database that grows daily.
The site averages 200,000 hits per month by 5,800 unique visitors using around
20 Gigabytes of bandwidth.

thanks for doing this Dennis
Most folks do not know what Bdub does for the GMC community.
WITH OUT HIM --- THERE WOULD BE NO US !!!
Most of the broken links on my web page are broken because the Photo sites ,
just go away. For years it was impossible to keep the GMC information
current until Bdub started the GMCphotostore.
Almost every post on the FORUM, and the GMCnet, reference / relate to
information on Bdub's site.
Thank you Billy for all you do
Here is my $20, hope you get 1000 more;~)

I tossed him twenty - the pictures of removing the pax side drive axle and renewing the boots alone was worth it.

Johnny,
Thanks for the contribution!
Folks, please send an email to me with the amount of your pledge or donation so you will be entered into the drawing.
Rob,
Thank you! Yes, would love to have participation from our Australian friends -- we will work out something for shipping where-ever the winners of the drawing may reside.
