Every time I drive and it is 95 out side My oil pressure drops to 38 pounds. At start up it runs about 60 pounds. The water temperature goes up to about 200 then drops down to 185 when the fan kicks in. When my oil pressure drop to 38 I stopped and checked the oil level it was fine. I found the bottom water hose was leaking so I tightened it and it stopped. I guess I was lucky I stopped. If I had not just changed one of the heads I probably would not have stopped since the oil pressure did the same thing last summer when going to FL.
If I add an oil cooler should I put it in series with the one that is in the radiator. Which one first?

I wouldn't worry about 38 lbs oil pressure with a warm engine. My fan kicks on around 210-215 then cycles off around 195 but yours and my gages could be a little off in opposite directions.
I have a 2nd oil cooler also I run the oil thru the radiator cooler 1st because the radiator cooler is located high in the radiator tank which would see higher water temperature then if it were on the bottom(aluminum radiator). Yes they are in series.

I agree with Roy. I wouldn't worry about 38# of oil pressure. Don't lug the engine on a grade to where you pressure drops below 20#. If you would like it a little higher oil pressure when the engine is warm then run a straight weight oil like 30w or 40w. They tend to run higher pressures than multi-weights.

The Hayden 2797 clutch fan i have now does not lock up as tight as the previous one did and it engages at a little bit higher temperature, like you the roaring of the earlier version drove me nuts. I had to rebuild my 455 2 years ago when I accidental over revved it on a hard pull up a mountain grade pulling my Toyota. I didn't realize I had it probably at around 5k or more when I pulled it into 1st thinking it was 2nd ( transmissions with shift kits loose the hi RPM lock out feature in 1 st) lesson learned concentrate on one thing at a time. I would not want to rev it at 4k for very long if too much oil ends up in the valve covers very long you will spin a rod bearing.
