Non GMC - Solar battery charger [message #128750] |

My wife & I recently purchased a 2009 VW Super Beetle and it came with a solar battery charger that sticks to the window with suction cups. It has a 2 prong output plug that is designed to be plugged into the computer access socket.
Because you guys are great at thinking outside the box I'd love to hear suggestions as what to do with this thing (be kind).

I have one of those VW solar chargers.
The intenet was to keep the VW battery charged in shipping and in the lot. THEY WORK.
I have used this one for keeping the GMC vehicle battery charged. I installed a Cig Lighter plug and plug it into the dash, make sure it has a fuse for protection, maybe an amp.
I have a lesser panel I use on my old truck battery for the same reason.
The VW panel does alright but it requires direct sun to charge so I try to keep it aimed from inside the windows.
Solar Panels are the future and for us learning about them, are kinda fun once you get a working system operational.
Play with it and see what you can do.
