I just arrived home from picking up our coach from southern Calif. and driving to Pa. Everything went well and only needed to call Jim B once. I want to thank everyone for their prayers,good luck wishes, and advice.

A lot of wind for about 1500 miles but mostly sunny and cool except for Tenn. Really hot.

as i prepare for my trip, it is nice to hears from those whose trip went well.
how many miles a day did you average, and any helpful tips for newbie is appreciated.

brian,

The miles per day driven will change for each trip, and how much time you have or allow. I'm not a Grayhound bus driver, so I don't push the time or speed. Six hours of actual driving is usually my limit. I'm not an early riser, don't drive hours on end and don't like getting to a campground to start hooking up after dark.

I took my brother with me so the driving was split up, and a helping hand if anything happened. We got on the road early between 4:30 and 5am and drove about 700 miles a day, stopped about every 4 hrs for fuel for the coach and us. We drove 2763 miles in 4 days. We spent 2 nights in rest areas and one at Super 8. Good Luck on your trip. Our prayers and thoughts will be with you.
