I know some of you have completely removed your old dash and replaced it
with a new unit, I am missing the glove box section, I have the door but no
box if anyone has one I would be interested.
I have a 1973 so I do not know about the the other models, but on mine the
window latch units were missing some or all the small plastic units that
held the screws in were rotted out or gone along with some of the screws. I
have found a simple solution if anyone has this same problem, I purchased
from Lowels home supply and purchased some binder screws, 3/16" long I
drilled the latch handle for the screw and threaded unit 3/16" I installed
the I installed a rubber washer over the shaft and installed it from the out
side of the window, I put new double back adhesive on the back of the handle
and pushed the screw through the holes, I applied a little sealant to the
threads and screwed both ends together.
It looks good and since the binder screws are aluminum, they should last a
long time. The ones I found are open straight through that's why I used the
sealant, there are some the the female part is closed on the outside, this
might look a little better. Some of the larger Office supply store may have
these also.
Hope this helps someone else
