Paul,
I've got sketches of the adapter. I've also got a BUNCH of PM
information collected by Ted Stinnett. Do you want all of it or just
the two sketches sent off-net?

Paul, et al,
Hopefully this SkyDrive link will take you to the complete set of
files from Ted Stinnett's PowerMaster library:
https://cid-af8ee0a410d5e357.office.live.com/browse.aspx/PowerMaster%20Brake%20Booster
http://goo.gl/aPbZa
There's a lot of information there which I've made no effort to purge
nor edit in any way. It includes Larry Weidner's writeup on his
installation and lots of other stuff, not all PowerMaster related.
It's about 50 MB, which I why I didn't offer it to Bdub.

Oh, didn't I tell you? I made a special entry for you! :-)
I just went and changed the permissions to "Everyone" -- I probably
failed to save the setting before.

Being a Turbo Regal guy we are blessed (plagued) with the same system. As far as I know there are no rebuild kits for the rubber parts in the MC section. The GM ones are long gone as far as I know. If anyone knows of a kit on the market please let me know. Usually this section, the braking MC side of the system, doesn't go bad easily so I would see if it is OK before attempting to rebuild it (whatever that word really means). The big failure point is the accumulator ball vessel which fails because people do not change the DOT3 fluid yearly, it attracts water, becomes acidic and attacks the sealant on the diafragm in the accumulator vessle and the HP nitrogen charge leaks out. Then you loose abilty to store charge as an energy source to act as power assist. Also a failure point is the check valve in the system on the assist side and the particulate grit that comes from the rubber breaking down(old fluid as cause once again) prevents the check valve from sealing and the pump runs too often to restore the pressure charge. And just like in a leaky air bag system situation, the pump is rated for intermittant duty only and if it runs and runs it overheats and burns out. Early pressure cycling switchs (black connector) were GM recalled. These were made by GE in the appliance division. The diaphragm seal would leak and the switch would squirt fluid past the seal and often ruin the paint on the car. The service replacement had a multiple diaphragm layer to act to prevent this issue. So if you have a grey connector switch it is the post recall version. The original German pressure vessels had the nut at the thread end of the ball requiring a thin wrench. The newer type had the nut on the outside and yellow warning paint on it. These are no longer available, but a similar ball is available as a service replacement on "rebuilt" Powermasters from Cardone, but as far as I know, not as a stand alone part from them if you try to buy just it. You can get the Cardone accumlator from Dennis Kirban at www.kirbanperformance.com as he arranged a deal to get the accumulators from them as a part. IMHO these are not as good as the originals in terms of lasting, but the only option right now. You might get a couple years out of one of the Cardones we are finding.

I have an aluminum adapter that I bought from Art Owens a few years ago and haven't used it. I will sell it for the $30 I paid for it plus shipping if you want it.

Powermaster http://www.resleeve.com/info.htm and Kirban
http://www.kirbanperformance.com/product/317/Brand+New+Complete+VACUUM+BRAKE+BOOSTER+KIT+%237044.html
offers a complete replacement unit, but it looks like it might not fit in
the space available in the GMC.
I have a complete used Powermaster, but don't know if it works, a brake shop
gave it to me in 2006. At that time, Kirban sold me a rebuilt unit for
$399.00. The core unit I sent them had bad seals.
