Wasn't that the one that was rejected from Barrett Jackson because of title
discrepancies?

Yes, and I understand there are still some questions about it. Some are saying it is a rebody.

If Bud had only chosen a 348 I might be interested. Very Happy
I can attest to Tx. transposing numbers on titles. They did the same thing to our GMC making it a 23 footer.
This is good reading. Thanks Bob.

Well, that was a bit interesting, if very laborious
for very little factual information.

And the scams roll on.

Dan, I can also attest of TX having fictitious vin numbers on titles. We bought a new car and a few years later noticed one of the letters was incorrect. The placement indicated a body style that did not exist. Never could get the state to correct it. Disclosed it to the buyer and sold it that way. Don't know if it ever got straightened out.

That is funny John. I bought our's in the Austin area. Did not realize the number was wrong until Dave Greenberg told me. I checked the plate and it is correct. They just put a 3 where the 6 should have been. Everything else is correct. I am not worrying about it. Might get it fixed some day and I might not.

G'day,

In defense of the Lone Star State when I brought my Harley back from Hong
Kong the inspection officer noticed that the engine number on the Hong Kong
registration did not agree with what was on the engine crankcase. I showed
him the original title from Connecticut and he corrected it for the Texas
Title.
