We have finally done it. After 3.5 years of work, we have now gone two full trips without a single mechanical problem in the GMC. That includes 1 750 mile trip to bean station and back towing my HHR and one 180 mile trip this weekend towing the HHR and running the Onan.

We had a very nice trip to a very mediocre campground on the western edge of Smith Lake in NE AL. Even in 100+ degree temps, the GMC stayed nice and cool parked in a partly shaded spot with the 15K BTU AC running. The ride home was hot in the sunroom up front, but with the genny and the roof AC running my wife and daughter were comfy in the back. I really don't like running the dash AC while towing the HHR in 100+ temps as the fan clutch runs an awful lot.

I'm very pleased with the shape of our GMC lately, despite the setback early this year coming home from GMCES. Seems like she's running real well lately and if we can stay on this track I might even convince the wife to jettison the HHR lifeboat, making my life a heck of a lot more enjoyable.

Thanks,
