I ordered a block off kit from Dick Paterson a couple of weeks ago and it has not yet arrived. Probably lost in the mail. Anyway, I called Cinnabar and they tell me that I need a gasket, turkey tray, and block off kit. Total 159.00.

Do I need all these parts?

Rick,

Most of us have not used the turkey tray.
Have you looked at SteveF's album on engine rebuilding? He shows one method of blocking which many of us have followed.

Perhaps a dumb question but have you called or emailed Dick Paterson?

Why would you call Cinnabar as you have already ordered from Paterson?

As I understand it, if you block off the exhaust crossover, you don't need the turkey tray. JimK sells a kit of gaskets with SS blockoff plates for a little over 1/4 the cost of what Cinnabar has quoted you.

I think when you block off the crossover, you need to install an electric choke (if not already done). JimK sells those too.

Rick,
Did not have your phone # in my area.
Don't assume I got my sheet together.

Thanks,

....and you do not want the rest of the stuff Cinnabar is trying to sell you.

Call Dick Paterson. He will get one out to you if the first one did not make it. I find it best to call him in the mornings. He is on Eastern time.
