My Dad bought this 73 Painted Desert new and gave it to me in 96. I don't use it enough.(I know). My son, who is a master mechanic, and I have rebuilt everything mechanical. I chunked the old Onan (no replacement). Everything works great. Paint is OK. Needs a new grill. Otherwise in great shape. Engine has about 350 miles on the rebuild (2 years ago) and about 700 on the transmission.

Any suggestions as to selling would be appreciated. I live near Columbia, SC.

If you want to communicate off site email tomfort@truvista.net.

Tom,

In 1973 we went from Columbia S C to Pontiac Michigan and
picked up our new 26' GMC Canyonlands ~ {Great Memories}
We sold it in order to purchase our '78 GMC Eleganza II ~

Please Post Pictures Of Your Painted Desert
and list improvements ~

BTW
Some years ago a French Lady & her husband opened a restaurant
in a former Gas Station near Lugoff {Fantastic Cusine} ~
Often wondered if it still exists ~

Post some pix on gmcmhphotos.com and ask Jim Bounds ( gmc-coop.com) to add it to his for sale list. Ebay and craigslist are possibilities, too, but you should start with the GMC fans. You know coaches are going cheap with high $ gasoline, though, so try to hang in there.

Thanks for the suggestions. How do I load a picture and an excel file here? Also, I'll ask around about the restaurant.

Thanks, I'll post to the picture site ASAP and send info to Jim Bounds. Don't worry about hanging in. I'm a retired music teacher and VERY patient.

Sorry I don't know much about you, your painted desert or circumstances.

Sometimes we over look the convenience the GMC offers us, including a room for the Mother in law when she comes to visit for a month. Laughing

True gas is high but using the campground is so relaxing and not near the cost of a room.

I have a similar thought, it does sit a bit and I take it out when I can for a drive but I use it when I visit friends and I stay in the GMC.

You may have already thought about all this and you may have other reasons for the sale. Which ever way you go, good luck.

You can put these on the forum, but the majority of users are on email and will not see them, so post pix to gmcmhphotos.com & email or phone JimB

Gas prices won't stay this high forever. Despite what speculators will want you to believe. Next year there is an election and it really hurts incumbents to have 4 and 5 dollar a gallon gas. They will pull something out of where the sun don't shine to make the price come down again, just watch...
