I have a leaky airbag so I ordered a set of Jim K's Silvertone airbags. Sorry Quadrabager but I like the idea of the OEM style.

Anyway I have one installed and at set height the airbag appears to be extended to max. According to Firestone the design length of this airbag (not including the extension for our application) is 9-10.5". Its sitting at 12.3" right now.

The max jounce lenght is 14.7", but I think thats unloaded height.

Compairing the cone from the uninstalled bag, its completely unrolled at this point. At my set height the distance between the bogie airbag arms is 14.75" and the extensions on the airbags are 2.625"

Does this sound right? If so I don't think I can raise it manually any higher than what it is now.

I called Applied but I guess Jim took one saturday off! Shocked

Any ideas?

Measuring from the roll of the bag to the end of the cone is 3.25", the total length of the cone is 3.50" so I am at the end of the roll!

My compressor shuts off at 120psi so I am not sure if I am even to the set height or just max airpressure.

I"ve got the second airbag installed now. Its sitting at 3" from the roll of the airbag to the face of the cone, so 1/4 further in.

The total extended length of airbag and cone is sitting at 12", still 1.5" beyond its design length.

I'm wondering if I'm missing a spacer or ?

Sorry, our great electonic phone system was off.

Jim,
It appears it raises the coach to the set height. My concern was the airbag seems to be at full extension, the roll of the airbag is at the edge of the cone.

So I really can't raise the coach any higher for leveling.

They are sitting close to 2" beyond the upper limit of their design height. So I'm thinking I'm missing another spacer for the other end?

We have tested them and when you go up to 125psi we stopped.
Some are raising the rear higher then factory specs.
We are going to be replacing the spacer soon with one that will be one
inch longer.
We pulled this old design off the shelf from 1996 without double checking it.
Like anything we sell, we will issue full credit and also pay freight back.
Summer is a very busy time and it gets tough to make changes quickly.
We know of the problem and have admitted it.
Should you not want to wait, Call us and we can work out a special
deal on a Q Bag .
