I posted this on the EFI group, but would like the input of others also.

I'm in the process of installing MPI on my Cad 500, and wondering where the best place is for mounting the High Pressure pump. I am using a carter 4070 to pump fuel out of the tank and into a frame mounted accumulator/filter. Then out of the filter to the High pressure pump. Then out of the HP pump into the pressure regulator and then into the fuel rails. Obviously it is not a "in tank" pump. At first I thought I'd mount the HP pump along the drivers side frame rail, but my last trip took us through some heavy rains and snow/slush/salt and mounting it there would expose it to those kind of elements. Has anyone mounted their high pressure pump up in the engine compartment fairly close to the intake manifold...like on the hatch cover frame. There, if something went wrong with the pump, at least it would be easy to get at and change. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks
