I, being a loyal and supportive kind of guy, ordered and received in fine
shape from Applied GMC, new bright colored lenses and base gaskets as well
as lens gaskets. I proceeded to very carefully fight the rusted
fasteners and corroded original lights off my coach and spent a couple of
days cleaning up the corrosion and replacing several of the bulb sockets and
ground wires. When I had them all shined up, I carefully installed them
after replacing several of the moly anchors in the roof. The first time I
drove it in the rain and had water running down Mary's neck, I thought that
I had another leak somewhere else. Suffice it to say that the orders from
headquarters were very explicit." Fix those damn water leaks" was a close
approximation to what she said. So, I pulled off the headliner and got out
the garden hose & guess what. Those lights leaked after all my hard work.
They have probably been recycled into plastic bags and bright work for
toyotas by now. I threw away 10 OEM clearance lights, 10 new lenses, and 20
new gaskets and two days work, along with some expensive sealant. You don't
necessarily have to follow my advise, but I would never again spend any of
what is left of my life screwing around with OEM clearance lights. The 1
piece sealed LEDs, properly sealed do not leak. JWIWD.

Jim,
There's a company on eBay that I got my one piece clearance lights from
called Closertowholesale.
Here's a current listing for AMBER lights: 140546862160
Here's a current listing for RED lights: 400215072947
The lights I got only had a hot lead, they got a ground through one of the
mounting screws into the metal roof of a truck cab. We had to scrape away
some insulation on the bottom and solder a ground wire on then re-insulate
the area where the ground had been soldered with some liquid insulation. The
foam pads are about 3/8" thick and they WON'T leak as long as you screw the
two screws down equally. I replaced the sheet metal screws that came with
the lenses with 1 1/2" long 6/32 stainless steel screws.
That was two years ago and to date no leaks!
