I have two 6 inch windshield fans from a school bus and would like to instal them in my coach. Has anyone done this? I would like some tips and ideas please.

Depending on what the bases look like, could you turn them upside down and
attach to the two (2) screws that hold the rear view mirror in place?
I have a fan and a radar detector on each of my screws and run the cords
down the center windshield post and in under the dash...
Just a thought.

Rear view mirror . . . now there's a delete option worth considering. A fan would be much more useful.

Rick,
Below are a few photos showing how I can mount a couple of fans when needed. I have floor vents so the fans aren't needed very often.

Mike,
Go to our web site and look at how we have our fans to where it stays
out of the way and view.
Also go to our instruction section for further info.
We can supply you just the parts you need or can copy it.
I personally worked on this and studied where to install it for over a
year before I came up with it.
People that has never used a fan in the front are really missing a
great comfort treat without using the a/c.

I don't know if my overhead front compartment makes a difference but here are pictures of my fans. With dash air or heat they help recirculate.

Hardie,

One of Double Trouble's PO's stuck a 12" x 12" Fresnel Lens on the back
window and it works great in conjunction with the rear view mirror.

I'm with Hardie... sort of.

The stock mirror is pretty silly. I installed this convex mirror.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=8163&cat=3240

Can see ok out the back and see the whole passenger compartment, too.

As for putting fans up by the mirror - I think they'd be a distraction
for me. Maybe not...

My fan option isn't for everyone. Some PO had stripped part of the dash
padding away to install a TV. I needed to patch that area so this is my
"console".
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=8163&cat=3240

Pancake fans below. But the problem is if they're both running the try
to move the same air. One sort of defeats the other, it seems.

Seldom use them. Fresh air vents in the floor work MUCH better.

Jim,

Yep!

Got lucky and got TWO seats! Slept for about 8 of the 14 hour flight!

Always fun to stop by and visit with you, Grace, Nick, and the rest of the
Applied team.
