Do not return the old radiator. It is one of a kind that can be
re-cored. The end caps that make up the radiator are "unobtainium".

Just opened the box of the copper brass one I have sitting here for
return. It does not appear to have lines for the engine oil cooler. It
has 3 ports in it, two look like trans lines which are on the right side
of radiator (engine side). The Al one is at home. I am sure that
performance does have acces to the direct replacement one if we can
figure out a factory part number or another more mainstream application
for the same radiator. Lets see what Tom digs up

Sully,

I told you so! ;-)

As soon as Performance Radiator tells Tom that they "ain't got none" for
"OUR" GMC you can remove it and have it re-cored.

IIRC the core is also "special." It has a high number of fins per inch, from
memory it is 14 and the tube density may also be high.

I'm sure someone else can provide that info.

By the way there have been statements floating around that the aluminum
radiator cannot be repaired that is incorrect.

I have been to tool shows in Sydney where they demonstrate a low temp
brazing rod for aluminum. I've watched them braze torn aluminum beer cans.
The brazed section is stronger than the can.
