Steering Box Issue [message #126496]

While my engine is being rebuilt, I am taking the opportunity to check out the loose spot in my steering. I checked all the ball joints, tie rod ends etc and they are all like new and tight. When I turn the wheel the shaft going into the steering box turns but the output shaft attached to what I am calling the pitman arm does not turn at all. It only turns when I turn the wheel beyond the loose spot which is about 2 inches either way. Can the box be adjusted or is it just shot?
