Am close to changing to a quad bag system. Would anyone have an opinion on the difference between the Quadrabag from the Jims, as opposed to the Idencorp from Leigh Harrison. The price difference is substansial, and I know you get what you pay for. My coach is used for local weekend camping, not long distance trips. I beleive the bags on it now are the original, and I don't want to go back with those. Are there any others on the market i'm not aware of? Thanks.

I like the single cone setup from both JimK and Southland. Simple, robust and a great direct replacement for OEM. If you're looking for an upgrade, then the Quad bag is probably the better bet.

There are now, a couple of single bag conversions, similar to the OEM design and I think 3 Quad bag versions.
I beleive the one that JimB and JimK are involved with is the most robust, ( read that as heavily built ) and other then not limiting coach drop when the air is down, is a really excellent unit.
I don't care for the first unit with the metal that flexes. I see that as a weak point and though we have not heard of one breaking, with my luck, it would break in the middle of no where with no cell phone service.
Now that a couple of single bag designs have come up, they are also a very good choice to consider.
The choice may not be an easy one anymore.
The Quad bags ride at a lower air pressure, enhancing the smoothness of the ride. I have not noticed any sway or rocking and handling is very good ( the JIMs 4 bagger ).
The singles are a higher air pressure but a single bag. The travel of the suspension is less than OEM but since we won't be driving over 4x4's any time soon as GM had advertised in the early years, that should not be a concern.
There was a stream in this forum not too long ago that was all over this topic, maybe a search can find it again.
You really need to look at all 4 or 5 of them, look at the pluses and minuses and decide what you really need and go from there...

Did Harrison ever fix that bending problem with the center bracket?

My understanding is that there are other issues with the Harisson system also, one of them being that the bags have to be run at a higher pressure than the Quad Bag. I think, all things considered, the Jim's Quad bag is the way to go. More expensive, but the better value.

Mark,
There is a reason why the Q Bag system is more expensive.
It is stronger and does not demand the higher air pressure and rides smoother.
There are several inovations that one does not see till your
installing our units.
The standard bag does not have the proper spring rate that is required
for the coach to handle well on the back.
Jim B was the one that sold majoity of the Harrison units till we
teamed up to develope the Q Bag that met Jim's requirments.
Now we know from Firestone who sells the most.

I love my QuadraBag system. When I lost a rear wheel, hub and all, I was able to easily and safely and with complete control pull off to the side of the road. To me that alone was worth the price of admission.

I'm with Bill on this. I've had two flats and both bent the dickens out of
the Harrison setup. It will also require that you change the compressor to
permit running over 130 psi. Mine ran at 110 psi but when I needed full
raise, it took 150 psi. I never was able to tell the difference in ride
quality between the two, both enhance straight line drivablility in most
conditions that give GMCers white knuckles. The Quad bag system is built
tough, no way around it. If you have to drive on just one wheel on one of
the rear sides, the Quad bag system will take the licking and not bend.
