As some of you may recognize I've been a lurker and a wannabe for a long time. Well I bought a GMC, the only problem is it's not a GMC MOTORHOME. It's a year 2000 GMC YUKON 2500 HD with 4WD and a 6 liter motor. It's HUGE. If someone was looking to put a more modern powertrain in a GMC Motorhome, perhaps the engine, transmission and transfer case from a GM SUV or 4WD pick up truck could be a starting point. As GM says this thing can tow a bunch, I'm sure the weight of the SUV and the allowable trailer weight is MORE than a coach, and it has more than 3 speeds in the tranny. If you started with a wrecked 3500 4WD, I think you would also get front hubs and other stuff good for a MH.
