The plastic tubing that goes from my compressor to the tank keeps blowing. The rupture occurs when just above the fitting where it attaches to the air compressor. My theory is that the tubing gets weak when it gets hot, then ruptures. The fitting does get awfully hot. Incidently the compressor shuts down when the tank has 98 pound,s of pressure so I know it is not blowing due to over pressure. Any thoughts?

Yes, the rupture is due to heat from the compressor. Originally there was a copper coil from the compressor to the tank which not only was stronger, but helped cool the air. You will probably need to replace your compressor to tank line with a hard line, such as a copper one.

if your compressor is good try to find the hose with the wire cover over it. thats what came with my compressor. The hose broke off of the compressor end and they compress the fitting to the hose. Had to cut off the compression fitting and bad hose, push the hose back on and use hose clamps. Note, the compressor fitting is factory fit and when new comes with a note saying not to tighten the fitting or damage may occur to the compressor..
I would try to find a piece of that hose with the wire cover, if not anything that will resist the vibration and handle the pressure.
If it is an emergency, you might use normal tubing with a couple loops to absorb the vibration, that should get you home.
If you have the schraders and isolation valves, you should get home ok....

My original one was some kind of plastic . I replaced it with 1/4" soft copper with a couple of loops to give it some flex. The last go round I used a length of stainless braided tubing that I had laying around.
