Good Morning

We have just returned to Nova Scotia , that's on the east coast of Canada,
eh, and after approximately 6000 miles, I am pleased to report our GMC is
running very well.
The only problem was the Onan which acted up in New Mexico, but was
functional with the assistance of this group and a set of jumper wires.

We've owned this GMC for almost 15 years now, having paid a lot more then
they are selling for now, and have considered it our cottage(thus expenses
are justifiable). We were the 9th owners, so it was far from new.

My point is that our coach is nothing special and I was in the 'English'
business all my life and am not a mechanic, but rather a tinkerer. This was
our 6th or 7th trip to the southwest and we have put well over 100,000 miles
on it since purchase. We have only been broken down once (owner/operator
stupidity), and there is no reason to fear these machines.....if I can do
the long hauls, so can you in your GMC. And, don't wait until you finish,
before you start to use it, because that won't happen....you never finish
work around the house, why would you expect to finish work on the cottage.
You can spend your time working on a motorhome or you can spend your time
traveling in one...says my Missus

Happy Motoring....

Mike and Lorraine...

Michael,
We are planning on making our second attempt on a trip to the maritimes this summer. If you recall 2 summers ago we got as far as Quebec City on the second day when the engine went out.

Thanks to Dick Paterson we now have strong running engine and transmission from him.

We are planning on leaving the last week of June so should be in your area around the long weekend. I still have your name and home number so if all goes well maybe we could cross paths for a short visit.

There are a couple of new GMCers in town as well...interesting chaps and

A big AMEN to Michael's original post. It is not how much we spend on these things but how much we enjoy them. teri and I still have interior work to do but we do not let that slow us down. We drove it to Az. one winter with the kitchen lying in the front yard. She built the new one after we arrived in Az. We mow grass at home and we do needed maintenance on the GMC as we go. Just the way it is. One can never "justify" the money put into one of these things other than to say it is our second home, and a cheap one at that. Life is good when you roll like Michael.

Hi Bruce

Would you be interested in an across Canada Rolling Rally for the
summer/fall of 2012 starting from the west coast and ending at the east
coast - people could do the whole thing or segments of it? I am willing to
go to work on organizing it.

Hi Dwayne
This might be an option for more than a few folks I myself was planning on BC next year then to Calgary to visit friends so I may be able to do this depends when during the summer, still working so will depend on the schedule. I renamed the topic so it does not get lost.

Bob and I might be interested in meeting up with the group somewhere along
the way if not all the way. Please add us to your list so we'll know the
itinerary.

That a right smart idea. Sounds very interesting.

Must start saving money now. Any speculation on the price of fuel then?

I'm a newbie and have owned our GMC about four months now. We've spent that time updating the interior ( it was too cold to use it anyway). However, in the last three weeks we have put 3,000 miles under our belt. Lots to do yet, but enjoying using it now. Still can't get over how many people love this machine! We've been photographed, waved to, talked to, and pointed at ( actually not us,but the GMC).
