Spent a few hours yesterday washing the old paint. Even did the roof for what little good it did me. She looks as good as she's going to look, which isn't saying much, but at least she isn't dirty.

Checked all my fluids, fired up the troll, the engine, the roof ac, the dash ac, in and out of gear. Everything worked well. If I can avoid another strange problem like losing a rear wheel, this should be a great trip.

Can't wait to get to my first Bean Station. Originally it was just going to be me, but now the whole family is coming along for the ride. Not sure what my wife and daughter are going to do, but I guess Nashville and Pigeon Forge aren't too far away if they get bored.

Looking forward to our first Dixielander Rally. If only I didn't have 3 days of work before getting out on the road testing out my new Honda seats and wiper arms.

Anyone heading up I-59/I-75 starting Thurs mid-morning might see us in our faded goldish GMC towing a silver HHR...

Thanks,

You are going to have a ball Jeremy. There are so many acres there that your wife and daughter will also have a great time.
I am still thinking about coming alone and sleeping in the Vibe. Have not made up my mind. Don't need any work on our coach and it is 500 miles one way.
I got a satellite dish, receiver, and tv that will work in the car fine once I plug into ac.

I'd offer you a bed, but between my daughter, the 125lb dog, the parrot, my wife... well, we just don't have any left at the moment...

Thanks Jeremy. I have been offered beds. I might as well sleep in the car though. It makes a great bed. I kinda doubt that I make it but I might.
It will be a great time for all.

You had better be there. I have a 500 mile trip one way also and I do not get the mileage that Vibe gets.

In the past I have slept in my car and also stayed at the local motel.

That's better than my Blazer that only sleeps one or my pickup that sleeps zero.

I'll be leaving out of Orlando and the Bounds Resort for Bean Station Tuesday morning. GPS and Google both call for 12 hours of driving time, so I'll get in as many hours as I can Tuesday and finish up hopefully Wedesday early afternoon. Tomorrow have some last minute chores (like remove the slicks from the drag race rally) to get ANNIE in highway mode. Only have one project. A control valve to keep the engine coolant at no more that 140*F going to the water heater. 195*F + is ok for me but I don't want a unknowing guest get surprised and burned.

I'm as concerned as the next person about the cost of gasoline but I'll be damned if I'm going to use that as an excuse not to drive or use the coach. Life is too short, there are too many places and folks on my bucket list that I want to see before I kick it. Besides, where I'm going to end up I don't think they take cash, checks or VISA.

See ya'll there. (Bean Station that is)

My 2004 F-250SD would sleep three. A kid in back seat,
and wife and I in the bed with a SportzTent on top and
a custom fit air matress on the bed floor. Pretty comfy!

Ted,

Map Quest says:

Suggested Routes I-75 N
4 hrs 29 mins / 270.77 miles

I'll be there with my Avion and so will John Richardson. Tom Phipps will
attend but his Avion is still in Texas.

Come and you can see what we've done with ours.

Rain through Wednesday over there, according to the Weather Channel. Should be sunny by thursday. We have had about 8-9 inches of rain in Dexter over the last 3 days. Golf sized hail for 3-4 minutes tonight. I would not plan to get over there before Thursday. I am sure things will be a bit wet. Watch the weather if you are coming to Bean station.
