Got underway from Patterson yeserday with new O'Reilly alternator and battery, though alternator adjusting bolt would not tighten. Finally got a bolt from Bob Drewes and Larry M. and had a nut, so ran it through and tightened. But the pulley was too small and eventua;lly through the new belt. Drove about ten miles on the battery before being directed to another O'Reilly's in Orange, Texas. There bought the only correct belt they had. The rear cap fell out of their alterator so I decided to try the spare used one I had in the trailer-that's when I noticed the different pulley sizes. Bought gas and headed out only to find the engine sputtering like not enough fuel or water(ethanol is hydroscopic)in fuel. Now it is dark and I drove this way with it running smoothly at times then not. We are now in a nice little RV park, I think near Baytown Texas about 40 miles from home.
This a.m. I will change the in line filter and the one at the carb. If that does not work, I'm out of ideas. Oh, BTW, now both fuel tank senders do not work, previously it was only the main tank! When we sell this coach, virtually everything on it will have been replaced. Tomorrow, we are due-with the GMC- in College Station Texas for my 50th class reunion. Lord, give me strength!!......Michael at GEMRECS
