Let me see, then there is the added convenience of body cavity searches,
rude TSA folks, lost baggage, Airport parking lot break-ins, long lines,
being treated like cattle in loading chutes, Motel beds where MAYBE they
changed the linens between occupants, lousy road food, rental car hassles.
Boy oh boy, we are having some fun now, huh? In all reality, you would have
to admit that driving a 35 year old vehicle does not make any economic
sense. If that is the case, then GMC owners are a crazy bunch. No such thing
as a little bit crazy. You either are or you are not. Now that we have
established the fact that we are all insane, then that clears the way for
all other cockeyed ways of thinking about GMCs. Stretches, pop outs,
$100,000.00 remodels, they are all insane too. Ain't it great here in the
looney bin? <GRIN>
No, it doesn't make any practical sense. I just returned from a rally at
Mayfield Lake in Washington State with the GMC Cascaders. The group took up
a collection and bought a beautiful rhododendron shrub to honor the passing
of my wife of 50 years and presented it to me there. Caught me by suprise,
and I don't think that there was a dry eye in the place. Good friends
sharing a common experience and living life as it was meant to be lived has
no monetary value, nor does it make economic sense. Is it "worth it"? Only
you can answer that. I know what this week end rally meant to me versus
hanging around in a big empty house full of memories. Hell of a lot cheaper
than a trip to the shrink, in my opinion.
