For reasons I will not bore you with, I may have soon have an opportunity to actually get started on my winter work list (and really hope to be ready for the season by September).
Brake system flush is not the list this year. I even read all of Gene's great sight and found nothing other than a reference that one person put 2 quarts in the power bleeder he built.
Is 2 enough? How much does one typically go through either power or vacuum bleeding.
I'm not sure which method I use yet. Vacuum works well on my cars because they are small and you don't empty the reservoir on any one wheel. I would have to build the rig for pressure bleeding, and that would add to the delay.

Matt, 2 quarts should more than do it. The principal reason for using a
power bleeder is to thoroughly evacuate all the bubbles in the common line
that feeds the rear bogies. When you pedal bleed, or vacuum bleed, the loss
of a continous flow of fluid contributes to the problem. When there is a
larger volume of fluid, like there is when a pressure bleeder is used, there
is a steady stream of fluid under pressure that exits when the wheel
cylinder bleeder valve is opened and no back flow is possible, therefore
eliminating air from being sucked back through the bleeder valve.

I will mention here that Jim Hupy sells a pressure bleeder at a fair price. you should contact Jim before building one yourself.
i say that because I feel bad that I did not get one from you, but I found that I had access to one through work for free.
I did pressure bleed my dune buggy, and my friends jeep, and now I will never mess with vacuum, or pedal bleeding again. I have been in the dark for so long it is sad i did not know about pressure bleeding in the past.
It saved me a ton of time on those cars too! my time would of paid for a pressure bleeder from Jim.
I am just waiting on some time to do the brake work on the gmc to pressure bleed that.

I just ordered a M/C top cover from Jim--very reasonable!
