It is working great for me. My coach actually would not start when it fried.

Might not be a bad idea to have a spare. But while we're at it, what is
the relay ABOVE that one?

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/data/3240/horn_and_other_relay.jpg

Headlight? Something to do with the heater, maybe?
Could probably divine it's use from the wiring diagram but I know
someone will answer the questions much faster than it would take me to
figure it out.

I'm not too excited about this part. It's basically a horn relay with a built-in key buzzer and a power terminal.

Relay is replaceable with a standard automotive cube relay for two bucks.

Power terminal can be replaced with an insulated power stud.

Key buzzer can be replaced with a more pleasant electronic chime under the dash.

Maybe I'm missing something, but that's what I would do.

That certainly is my reaction as well! I always found it curious that those seemingly unrelated functions were built into one unit.

Along these lines, I have a spare heater relay, new in box. My heater only runs on high. It will run in low position and high position, but both speeds are same. Nothing in the middle position. This is a 74 model. Should I think it might be the relay and swap it out? the one in it shines like a new one. The horn relay is all rusty but when horn stops working I just tap on that relay and all is well again.

First check the resistor pack in the driver's side of the heater box. Connections to this might be loose or corroded or one of the resistors might be burned out.

I sort of thought the same thing but for $9-11 I would have a spare
version of the real thing. I'll install the spare and put the old one
away.

A good quality relay is more like $5. Then you're going to crimp
terminals onto the OEM wires and stick them on the relay spades? Not
me... I'm going to have to have a "socket" assembly. www.waytekwire.com
for good stuff. And a quality insulated power stud is another $4-5.
More moving those stock wires around.

I agree it's an odd bunch of connections to put on one relay. That
said, it fits perfectly where it is and I don't have to mess with the
stock wires at all.

This from a guy who loves re-engineering the stock wiring. :^)

Kelvin, I am with you on the sockets. When I build relay lines for the headlights I always get a socket to put the relay in.

Ok, you have a point, I'm just saying its one of he easiest workarounds on the coach, pretty much can be replaced for the cost of the original part at closeout pricing.

I'm also the guy that replaced his burn't out Norcold fridge 12Vdc-24Vac voltage converter with a microprocessor based circuit and LCD display... because I can Cool

Dan, Nick says my Hubler kit etc is on its way! Hope to have it by next weekend.
