Interior light switch in door jamb [message #120361]

Well, I did a dumb thing and tried to replace the interior light switch in the door jamb of my GMC. While pulling out the switch, the connector broke loose and the wire dropped inside the jamb. I could hear it arcing inside the jamb so I pulled the fuse (post haste). I suspect there's no way to reach the lost wires, so I'd like to just cut and tape them off elsewhere. Can anyone tell me a good place to access them?
