I would like to add gas struts to the engine hatch while I have everything
apart.
Does any one know the size, weight rating, length, etc??

If one does do this modification, does the under-hatch temps hurt the
longevity of the gas shocks? Just wondering as I was thinking about
doing this mod. Thanks.

Here's the simpler approach:)

No thermal issues with these.

Oops! I was talking about the engine hatch inside the cab, not the
clamshells. Boy, did I read that one wrong. Sorry.

Gary,
You were correct in every way of describing what you said.
When an Ornamental can finger out what was said, it has to be good.
I was waiting for an answer for that as I too question the temperature issue.

I have often thought about the gas struts on our hatch too. Mine is heavy with the glass in it. I have torn most of the rubber sealer off dragging the thing out and setting it behind Teri's seat when I need to check something. Many years back I saw Jim W had fixed his up with them. Some PO has moved the passenger seat over to the left too far for the hatch to open like it should. I will need to move the seat back. Teri says no. She loves the extra room between her seat and the wall.
So, until Teri changes her mind I will keep dragging the thing off every time.
Maybe if I ask for her help everytime I need it off, she will change her mind.

Gary,
I have never had a problem with the gas springs getting weaker because of the engine heat. It's a great addition.

Hi Dan,
Cool thing! Any pics? Safety glass? Lit up inside for night time (re)viewing?
