In doing some net research on the ever changing cell phone and cell net card situation I found that Wilson, one of the very best manufacturers of cell phone amplifiers and antennas, now has a new all in one cell phone booster system, called the Sleek. It is a booster amp and allows an external antenna on your cell phone. It will work on most every cell phone out there, as well as the MiFi cell modem/wi-fi routers. The main disadvantage that I see is that it needs to be used with some external phone input/output system such as Bluetooth as the phone must stay in the Sleek system cradle.
Here is a review from 3Gstore.com which gives you some good information on it.

3G has them on sale now for $90.
I have no affiliation with either 3G or Wilson. I don't own this thing (yet) but it sure looks like it might be promising and allow me to get a new phone. I have been holding onto my old phone, as it has an external antenna input, but virtually no new phones have antenna inputs anymore. I live in a remote area where external antennas are very handy for cell service a lot of the time.

I just ordered one. I hope it will be enough to get coverage at my favorite camping sites around here. I suspect it will since I'm currently right at the fringe of reception. I'll give it a try in speakerphone mode, otherwise I can update my GMC radio to a bluetooth which I've been thinking about anyway.

I think there was talk here last year about this.
Wilson has another product very much like this one.
Price looks right on this new one. Let us know how
well it works.

Works with 3G. When 4G comes along there will be an upgrade path. It'll
probably involve buying something newer, better and at a lesser price.

No doubt. All I want to do is make a phone call when I get a snake bite or if I'm out of vodka!
