I am getting a new refrigerator exterior access door, and oven vent and want to color match them to my existing paint. Does anyone have a link to the paint codes used on the GMC motorhomes? Specifically for a 1976 Eleganza II

From what I could find, the best guess of my color is "Camel" with and RPO code of 533

After quite a while searching, this was the best I could find:
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=5391&title=exterior-colors-1973-4&cat=3516

Says they are paint codes for 73 and 74, I was hoping to find confirmation that the colors/codes did not change in 76

Perfect world scenario:
Someone knows of an "off the shelf" matching color (dupli-color etc.)

I know I can get an exact color match mixed and put in a rattle can, but hoping to avoid the cost.

Thanks!!

Gary Bovee helped me out with a link and I got most of the info needed. Thanks Gary!

For anyone else who may look for this in the future, I've added the info below. Good to get it on the board history for anyone who may need it.

Year: 1976 (1977) (1978 turned to colors "Frost Beige" 38P and "Medium Beige" 35S)
Color: Beige
RPO: 534
Application Eleganza II, Glenbrook

When cross referenced though google searching came up with the following numbers:

GM
WA4527

Chrysler
DT6497

Ditzler PPG
2646

DuPont
42807L, 42807A, 42807D

Sherwin WIlliams
11598, 6066

Now need to see if I can find it in an off the shelf paint...

I'm looking at my quart of Dupont Centari from last year. It was a perfect match to the old Imeron without any tweeking. 42807A Code 8440 Beige. This is for my 77.

Corey,
Check this out, I've copied some links for you,
http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?ditzler=2646&smodel=Motor%20Home&sname=Beige&page=1&rows=50&size=large
if you click the link toward the bottom to order eventually you get to here...
https://www.carpaintonline.com/paints-byppgcode.php?PPGCode=2646&PNId=5698&SearchPPGCode=2646

Some of the products are available in 12oz premix spray can. I used this for the frosted mint on my '76 Palm Beach for exactly the same thing... repaint of the frig outside louvered door. I was pretty damn close to the 35 year old paint... looks good.

Play around with the site and you will probably end up with some other projects like I did.

That's the site I was able to get all the cross reference numbers from. Good to hear that the codes are matches to original paint color.

I'm still hoping to find a color match can, but all the local auto parts stores have gotten rid of most of their touch up paint stuff, and this would have been a long shot anyway. Looks like I'll just get one mixed up to code.

Thanks everyone!

a quick update as I came across an almost match while picking up some wiper blades this weekend.

The paint is a Dupli-Color "Perfect Match" Paint
I got it at an O'Reilley's Auto (formerly Kragen in CA) for $6 for a short can.

The cap reads:

BGM0545 Santa Fe Tan (60)
replaces T126

I've attached some images of the paint test next to my paint:
Can
In shade
In direct light

Verdict:
In direct light it is a very close match to the original. It is a warmer tone, but pretty close. In the shade however, it is more noticeable. The paint has more of a pink hue to it than the original. That said, my coach is in real need of a wash/wax, so maybe not reflective of the tone one refreshed a bit. I wiped down the area, but did not buff, wax...

Overall, it is a close match, for a rattle can that is in no way supposed to be a match to the original paint on the Eleganza. I think it's important to keep in mid that this is supposed to be a match to some other paint and just happens to be close to ours. I am still on the fence as to whether I'll paint my fridge vent door with it, but thought I'd post my test in the hope it can help someone else out. For $6, it is a nice option for some of the misc. accessory items, but for something as large as the vent door I think it might bug me in the long run not to have a perfect match...

You also have to adapt for the fading of old paint.

Someone once suggested to take the mirror bracket off and take it to a "real" paint store. They should be able to whip up a batch of paint that should match. Most stores should be able to load it into something that works very much like a rattle can.

I have never done this.... someday I'll work on the appearance aspect! (It IS on my list....)

I don't believe the question was fully answered as to where you find the paint code. The primary source is the GMC Maintenance Manual, Body 1-5.

What....... you don't have a Maintenance Manual for your GMC. How can anyone possibly maintain a coach properly without the manual? (sorry, a pet peeve of mine)

Take the code to an automotive paint/supply and purchase a small amount (pint, quart) that way you will have a match and likely have leftover paint for those stone chips or the next repair.
