After years of desire, a few weeks of frustration, and more than a couple of "bumps" in the road, I can now count myself among the insanely wonderful people that own a GMC motorhome.
Believe it or not, it is the one I thought I already owned (long story). So now the project begins. It's raining/snowing here so I'm inside brain storming. First thing I am looking for is the couch. It had one at some time because the hardware in the ceiling is still there. So if anyone has one they would sell me please email me. I don't care about the condition, I'm mainly after the frame work.
Now if would only warm up a little and stop raining...

Marsha,

Welcome to the Group/cult/asylum.

You really have got to get around and look at other floorplans before you rip into it. There was one GMC fit 23' that came with a couch/bunk and a rear dinette, but I have never seen a surviving example. (I am no expert on GMC, either.) For known original floor plans go to: URL<http://www.gmcmotorhome.com/faq/GMC23Interior.html>

After it turned out that we might keep the coach a while longer than the original plan, I though I might change some things. We are now very happy with the interior arrangement and other than replacing plastic parts that aged out, we have: installed a working stereo, hung a microwave under the range hood and added LED track reading lights to the back bedroom. (No other mods are visible to the casual observer).

And, as I am want to do, I feel that no new coach and owner should go without the greeting that a waterman uses when meeting a new vessel or owner, so I paraphrase here:

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.

Welcome Marsha.

Matt

Thank you Gary for the referral -

I contacted them and ordered 2 seats - both have both arm rests - in a light
beige leather
And they arrived this morning.
My cost $469.99 - cost of seats and shipping to the west coast of Canada.
Then had to pay Import charges of $90.06 Cdn

They were excellent to deal with ad delivered a great product .

dwilleford@rollxvans.com

Now I can get rid of the 2 leather seats I had installed prior only to find
out they both were full of mildew.
I tried the Ozone treatment, coffee grounds, tea oil, vinegar and water,
peppermint oil - only masked the odor for
A short time. So out they go and in with the new.

I called them yesterday. They only have the 2011 seats which have 1 armrest,
not 2. He quoted me for 2 seats (tan leather) and shipping to AL $325. I
bought some new 2010 seats with 2 armrests (tan leather) off ebay yesterday
with shipping for $288. The rollx people are nice and they have an available
supply, but if you want the double armrests you can probably still find
them, and find them cheaper, if you are patient.

The 2008's have the cup holder in the bases

They later went to side airbags and eliminated the cupholders--bet a lot of GMC's don't realize they have in-active side airbags!

Wouldn't there be some kind of wiring going to the airbag? I haven't seen any wiring on any of the various pictures... the seats are designed to be removed.

Just bought a set off eBay. I'll look when I get them. There should be an airbag symbol anywhere there is an airbag. I'll post pictures if I find anything... if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

Got my seats the other day. 2009 seats. No cupholders, no wires going to the seats and...

NO AIRBAGS.

The little cap that someone was saying that "the airbag comes out of" is a cover for a bolt.

Think about it, what would trigger the airbag? It would need something electrical going into the seat... power if nothing else. If a built in airbag was "self contained" it would be VERY dangerous to ship them.

There isn't anything that will blow up in these seats.

Myth Busted.
