Looks like travel to the UK is getting as bad as travel to Mexico.
Jack has had his bags, money, and passport stolen.
Poor Jack. Hope he makes it home.

Well I did my part.
I sent them both $10,000 western union.
Good thing I looked in my junk mail folder, overrode the security settings and blocking or I never would have seen that important message.
and I did it while standing naked in front of my high school math class...
Oh wait. maybe it was a dream??

Just so you all know, this obviously a phishing scam. It is also being
propagated on Facebook, where it comes in as a FB instant message, my
son just got a FB IM from my niece with the same scam.
Jack is alive and well in California and was at the GMC 49ers rally in
Gilroy this weekend.
The pattern on this one and the previous one makes me think that
someone has either harvested a contact list from a GMCnet users
computer or from the server or the phorum server.

I don't think the forum server has been hacked. If it had people would be getting these emails from all of us.
Some individual here, who regulalry communicates off the board with other people here, has had his email infected. More than likely that individual uses a suite of MicrSoft products.
FUD Forum is very popular and apparently pretty secure. If someone could hack the forum, given our common age and demographics, they would be able to come up with a much better scam than "i'm in London and I've lost my passort"

I got the message from "JACK" and much of it looked exactly like the message he sent me about a rally a few months back. The name was formatted the same with all caps for his first name, but the address was different. Normally he uses gmail. This came from the same username he uses but the domain was ymail.com instead.
If you'd enjoy hearing about scammers having the table turned on them, you might enjoy...
http://www.thescambaiter.com/ (possibly NSFW, depending.)
These are the guys who are able to get the greedy little scammer to pay COD+Freight on 600-700 pound boxes "full of labtops" only to find concrete-filled old toilets, etc. Whatever keeps them busy instead of running the scams.

Hi All:
It was my Gmail account that was hacked not the Comcast account that I get
my GMC forum mail on (this one).
A friend inadvertantly sent me the bug but all is now restored and clean.
Jack Kincaid
PS: send any money as cash by USPS to my home, (small unmarked bills),
Thanks, JK
